Sallandse Heuvelrug
An area with on-Dutch views of large wavy heaths and vast forests. The Sallandse Hillrug between Hellendoorn and Holten. In the past, sliding ice, melting water and dusty sand formed the landscape. Man also left his traces, the oldest dating of five thousand years ago.
The current appearance of the area has arisen mainly in recent centuries. Sand sprays, caused by overgrazing of heath fields, were impoverished by the early days of forests. But today, people are still pushing a stamp in this area. Now with the purpose of preserving the landscape and the plant and animal world.
